Ice Stations – A Ransome-Style True Adventure

The January 2018 issue of Yachting World magazine published an article by Australian Arthur Ransome Society (AUSTARS) member Jon Tucker, telling the story of his sailing from Tasmania to the South Pole with two of his sons, in his eldest son’s yacht.

New Zealander Jon has five sons, who grew up on the ketch that he and his wife built, and they wore out their copy of “Winter Holiday”, as well as their library copies of Arthur Ransome’s other books.
