The Arthur Ransome Society was formed in 1990 to celebrate and promote Arthur Ransome’s life and his interests in exploring, camping, sailing, navigation, leadership, literature and much more.

The Society offers a variety of regional and national events and activities, as well as regular publicatons, to its members,  and has overseas groups in Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the U.S.A.

The Arthur Ransome Trust was founded in 2011 to help people discover and enjoy the life and works of Arthur Ransome.

It is working to establish a permanent Arthur Ransome Centre in the Lake District, and is also developing exhibitions, displays and Swallows & Amazons resource materials.
