Try your hand at sailing with Bassenthwaite Sailing Club

Bassenthwaite Sailing Club is holding an event this weekend for people to try the sport. The organisers say this will be the ideal time to try the sport, soon after the release of the Swallows and Amazons film and the success of Team GB at the Rio Olympics.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never stepped in a boat before, you and your family can get afloat and sample the freedom and exhilaration of a fantastic outdoor sport at this family-friendly club. From 10am to 4pm tomorrow, the club is open and will be running free taster sessions.
Visitors will be taken out by experienced instructors. All the equipment and information needed will be provided to give an introduction to sailing. Booking in advance is recommended.
