Reading “Swallows and Amazons” – with the Swallows and Amazons shop
Many different editions of Arthur Ransome’s series of “Swallows and Amazons” stories have been published over the years, and we have a selection of the latest Vintage Classics and Red Fox paperbacks available from our Swallows and Amazons shop.
The Vintage Classics paperback editions started being released in 2012, and feature a large, clear, easy-to-read typeface, all of Arthur Ransome’s original illustrations, plus quizzes, games and additional information in a new ‘Backstory’ section.

Additionally, the cover for the Vintage Classics edition of “Swallows and Amazons” won the prestigious 2013 V&A Book Cover Illustration Award for the Finnish illustrator Pietari Posti.
In contrast, the Red Fox paperbacks feature the classic cover designs of the Jonathan Cape hardbacks, and our shop stocks the two most popular titles – “Swallows and Amazons” and “We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea”.
Prices start at £6.99 for the Vintage Classics books, and £7.99 for the Red Fox books, plus postage and packing.
