Photo story: Nancy Blackett’s summer sailing

Arthur Ransome’s favourite yacht, Nancy Blackett had a busy summer of sailing trips for members of the Nancy Blackett Trust along the East Coast, from local daytrips and overnight stays on the Rivers Orwell and Stour, to venturing further afield – south to “Secret Water” and north to Southwold and Lowestoft.

On the way, Trust members encountered lounging seals, giant ferries and historic Thames barges, while experiencing a typical variety of summer weather conditions.

A selection of photos from July and August is below, while full details of these members’ trips and more are in the Trust’s members-only sailing newsletters. To find out more about joining the Trust for the chance to sail on Nancy Blackett please see its Membership page.
